The Pape and Kellner Archive has the following to say about Franz Uter (Ulter).
“Rifle factory, production and distribution of hunting weapons, target weapons, specialist in -hunting and sporting weapons of all kinds, only first-class craftsmanship.” Documentation is found in 1924.
The following images shows a Drilling in 8×57 and 16 ga. with post 1939 proof marks. It is marked F. Uter-Heidersbach on the bottom of the rifle barrel.
