According to the 1873 Handbook of Industry, Vol. 1 and the Sammlung der Deutschen Handels-Register for 1862 the firm of Halang & Bachner was formed in Suhl by Carl Emil Halang and Benno (Benjamin) Bachner on the 8th of May of 1862. They were located at Mühltorstraße 126 and were still there in 1895.

By the time that the 1873 Handbook of Industry was being assembled the firm had a work force of 30 employees.

The firm seems to have specialized in producing combination long guns of one type or another while also selling guns made by other firms. In May of 2022 the Kramer Auction Service LLC sold a Halang & Bachner underlever, pin fire combination gun serial no. 3517 16 ga. and approxemetly 58 caliber which was given an Auction estimate of $600 to $800.

Following are images of a Drilling made with the rifle barrel above the shotgun barrels and with a third central hammer for the rifle barrel.

Next we have a Drilling made by them with an articulating hammer patterned after the Meffert Drilling system.

On May 20, 2011 Rock Island Auctions sold another Halang & Bachner, Lot no. 492 for $1,150. It is an under lever drilling with a top tang selector.
