Located at Heiligegeistrasse 23, the firm was founded in 1880. It is documented the Walter operated the business from 1912 to about 1925 and possibly later. The authority- Raimey Ellenburg (in Doublegunshop.com) believes that Walter was born in 1891 and passed away in 1964. The Pape & Kellner archive states that he passed his Master’s examination in 1912. He sourced a lot of the guns he sold from the makers in Suhl and Zella-Mehlis.
